Old Paths
Throughout history, Gods people have started out following the Lord and then as time went on they have lost their zeal and strayed into a more watered down way of following the Lord. Some as in the case of Moses strayed completely away. I think we can see changes now, in the church as a whole. Not all of course but in general a different path than the Lord first set us on. We see changes in the people, in the morals, and more with all the different Gods people are serving. Frankly It is a scary time we are living in. There are basic requirements on the old path that we need to adhere to. Israel had walked off the path and the Lord spoke through Moses and said “What does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord our God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good.” Deuteronomy 10:12-13
That is the old path, the good path, the one that will bring us rest for our souls.
The Love Of God
When we become a Christian, nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Security like none other! So often we go through life seeking Love in all the wrong places. So hungry for love that we go to every height and depth to find it. In that search the greatest love of all is overlooked. In finding a life in Christ our life can truly come together. We can, experience the Love of God, it is in Christ Jesus our Lord. There is nothing like living in that love and walking with our Lord. He will lead us to the best love in this life, love that won’t hurt us or leave us unexpectedly. I had many years of looking for Love apart from Christ and it was a different life. Yes those were good years as I became a woman and followed my life’s path. But ultimately we are all looking for that forever love in a mate. I had not found that until I began to walk with the Lord and He led me to the man I now have been with for 48 years. Walking with the Lord completes us. The security of Gods Love is beyond comprehension and assures us of the best life.
Rocks
Jesus traveled to Jerusalem. When he got to the Mount of Olives He sent two of His disciples to go and get a colt that he might ride it into Jerusalem. I always thought it was a donkey, or burro but the King James says a colt. Anyway they went right away and found the colt right where He told them. They borrowed it from the owner by telling Him the Lord has need of your colt. They took it to Jesus and put him up on the colt and Jesus began the decent down the Mount of Olives. His disciples and a multitude of people were shouting. rejoicing and praising God as Jesus approached . The Pharisees were angered and asked Jesus to make the people stop worshiping Him. Jesus said” I tell you, if they keep quiet, the rocks will cry out.” Luke 19:40 I have always loved this portion of the Lords journey and often thought of His statement that the Rocks would cry out. All of creation praises Him. I know that but Rocks are so inanimate. I do love rocks though! I have a collection because I think they are such a beautiful part of creation. But I just could never imagine the rocks praising the Lord.
Recently I heard about something called The Kindness Rock Project. My granddaughter was painting rocks with little cheerful messages and pretty pictures. She told me its a national thing. I looked on the internet and sure enough I found it and many photo’s of rocks people had painted. The intent is to hide a beautiful painted rock along your path so someone might come along and be blessed. It is not just national, it is international. Guess what, I now paint rocks. I hid my first one yesterday. I found that many of the people put scriptures on their rocks and encouraging words to help someone along the way. I am putting scripture on the back of most of my rocks. I worked on these rocks with great joy imagining who might find my rock. While I worked I thought of those rocks that would cry out. So many people are not praising the Lord, many openly making fun of the Lord and mocking Christianity. It occurred to me that maybe the rocks are crying out. With that thought I am super excited to paint these rocks. I find it’s just another way I can get His word out and praise the Lord myself. Below is a picture of some of my rocks. My printing is not good but if they can read it I’m happy. My husband has even painted some rocks.
