The Tongue

The tongueWhat does this mean, you might say.  The epistle of James says many things about the tongue.  It is a dangerous member of our body.  If we cannot control it, it  defiles our whole body.  We have seen how the tongue works with gossip.  It can cause such hurt for the subject and a lot of hurt for the gossiper as well.  The tongue is also used for many other ugly things.  Verbally abusing someone, and using that tongue to bring someone down.  Have you ever stop to think that your tongue is a fire from Hell.  Not a godly thing for sure if you let the devil use your tongue.  I have noticed for a long time now that cursing has become a right of passage for our young people.  Sitting in a parking lot at the grocery store as school lets out is frightening to hear the way that boys and girls throw vulgar language around as they walk by.  It hurts my heart to hear it.  I can’t say I am innocent, I at one point in life did some cursing myself.  I never said the word I consider the most vulgar and disrespectful of all words and that is the F word.  I was raised that the f word was never to be said around a lady, and a lady would never say that word.  Now, everyone says that word.  That really hurts my heart.  My dad would not allow that word to be said around his wife and family.  Once while in a restaurant a man was shouting that word and was very near our family having dinner.  My dad calmly got up and went to the man and told him he couldn’t talk like that in front of his wife and children.  The man pushed back and told my dad he could talk however he wanted and my dad knocked him out of his chair and calmly came back and we finished dinner.  That is the way it used to be.  We have gone away from clean speaking and are embracing evil speak.  Titus 3:2 Speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle shewing all meekness unto all men.  Ephesians 4:31  Let all bitterness and wrath and anger, and clamour and evil speaking, be put away from you. 1 Peter 2:1 Laying aside all malice,  and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies and all  evil  speaking’s  10  For he that will love  life,  and see good  days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. 1Peter 1:15 But as He which hath called you is holy, so be lye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.  Lets pray that conviction will come to those who relish evil speak.  For their own Good.

Old Paths

Gold Beach and Brookings 099Throughout history, Gods people have started out following the Lord and then as time went on they have lost their zeal and strayed into a more watered down way of following the Lord.  Some as in the case of Moses strayed completely away.  I think we can see changes now, in the church as a whole.  Not all of course but in general a different path than the Lord first set us on. We see changes in the people, in the morals, and more with all the different Gods people are serving.  Frankly It is a scary time we are living in.   There are basic requirements on the old path that we need to adhere to.  Israel had walked off the path and the Lord spoke through Moses and said “What does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord our  God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your  heart and with  all  of your  soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good.”  Deuteronomy 10:12-13

That is the old path, the good path, the one that will bring us rest for  our  souls.

The Love Of God

When we become a Christian, nothing can separate us from the Love of God.  Security like none  other!  So often we go through life seeking Love in all  the wrong places.  So hungry for love that we go to every height and depth to find it.  In that search the greatest love of all is overlooked.  In finding a life in Christ our life can truly come together.  We can, experience the Love of God, it is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  There is nothing like living in that love and walking with our Lord.  He will lead us to the best love in this life, love that won’t hurt us or leave us unexpectedly.  I had many years of looking for Love apart from Christ and it was a different life.  Yes those were good years as I became a woman and followed my life’s path.  But ultimately we are all looking for that forever love in a mate.  I had not found that until I began to walk with the Lord and He led me to the man I now have been with for 48 years.  Walking with the Lord completes us.  The security of Gods Love is beyond comprehension and assures us of the best life.Nothing can seperate Us

Jesus traveled to Jerusalem.  When he got to the Mount of Olives He sent two of His disciples to go and get a colt that he might ride it into Jerusalem.  I always thought it was a donkey, or burro  but the  King James says a colt.  Anyway  they went right away and found the colt right where He told them.  They borrowed  it from the owner by telling Him the Lord has need of your colt.  They took it to Jesus and  put him up on the colt and Jesus began the decent down the Mount of Olives.  His disciples and a multitude of people were shouting. rejoicing and praising God as Jesus approached .  The Pharisees were angered and asked Jesus to make the people stop worshiping Him.  Jesus said” I tell you,  if they keep quiet, the rocks will cry out.”  Luke 19:40  I have always loved this  portion of the Lords journey and often thought of His statement that the Rocks would cry out.  All of creation praises Him.  I  know  that but Rocks are so inanimate. I do love rocks though!  I have a collection because I think they are such a beautiful part of creation.  But I just could never imagine the rocks praising the Lord.

Recently I heard about something called  The Kindness Rock Project.  My granddaughter was painting rocks with little cheerful  messages and pretty pictures.  She told me its a national thing.  I  looked on the  internet and sure  enough I found it  and many  photo’s of rocks people had painted.  The intent is to hide a beautiful painted rock  along your path so someone might come along and be blessed. It is not just national,  it is international.   Guess what, I now paint rocks.  I hid my first one yesterday.  I found that many of  the people put scriptures  on their rocks and encouraging words to help someone along the way.  I am putting scripture on  the back of most of my rocks.   I worked on  these rocks with great joy imagining who might find my rock.  While I worked I thought of those rocks that would cry out.  So many  people are not praising the Lord, many openly making fun of the Lord and mocking Christianity.  It occurred to me that maybe the rocks are crying out.   With that thought I am super excited to paint these rocks.  I find it’s just another  way I can get His word out and praise the Lord myself.  Below is a picture of some of my rocks.  My printing is  not good but if they can read it I’m happy. My husband has even painted some rocks.001 collage (1)Rocks Cry

Greater Is HE

Greater Is HeYesterday I left you with the roaring lion out to devour you.  It is scary for sure, but greater is  He that is in you than he that is in the world.  As Christians, we have  the Lord in us to defeat the devil and  all  of his evil plans and tricks.  Trusting in the Lord is our greatest defense, But we still need to be careful…The Lord won the battle on the Cross.  He shed His precious blood for us. As Christians we have a blood covering.  Resist the devil  in the name of Jesus, and he will flee from you.  I love the photo above, taken the same day I got a shot of the roaring lion.  This lion was laying on his back rolling around.  He is down for the count.  This is how I view the devil.  I just want to keep my eyes on my Jesus and I will be safe.

Be Careful

Roaring LionThe devil is roaming through our country, our values, our families and our friends.  Our country is shaking right now with the inability of those who refuse to accept and respect our elected president.  We are seeing things we have never seen and pray the political violence will stop.  Our values are shattered right now in this country.  The sanctity of marriage has been stripped, many don’t feel it is necessary.  Divorce is at an all time high.  Our children are being bombarded with things their little eyes should not see on T.V.  even in the advertisements.  The cover is off of everything and we can see the devil tearing down our land.  Every evil disgusting thing is finding acceptance in our society.  Be careful that the devil doesn’t find a way to devour you.  Put your walls up against these things, and teach the young the right way to live.  I notice on advertisements on T.V. that they are making alcohol more and more exciting every flavor of martini, even alcohol laced sparkling water.  I told my husband before long we will have more alcoholics than ever before.  Be careful, you could be taken in by all of these things that are crowding in on our land.  I love you, just had to vent on what I am feeling right now.  I took this wonderful photo at the Wildlife Sanctuary in Keensburg Co.

I Can Do All Things

As long as I live, I want to serve the LordAll Things Through Him in some capacity.  He has given me strength to write, to take photographs, and to share His word.  Every holiday or change of season, I take the opportunity to make pins to wear and attach them to a scripture card I make and laminate.  I pass them out as the Lord leads.  The Cancer center where I get my care is one place I share them.  I took 65 of them and passed them out to the nurses and the patients.  All received with smiles and gratitude.  His word does not return void, so I love to get it out there.  I also share them too all the pharmacy staff where we get our meds, the many doctors offices that both my husband and I go to.  There is always something we can do for the Lord.DSC_2532DSC_2535

His Grace

His StrengthMy strength is made perfect in weakness!  When the Lords written word is revealed to us and no longer are just words, it is called Rhema in the greek.  On this cancer journey, many of the Lords words have become Rhema to me.  I am experiencing his word.  We have all had Rehema times as we are studying His word.  Times when the words just pop off of the page and into your heart.  I am very aware of the scripture for today, as I walk in it.  I know that I am weak, but amazingly I stand up with strength and live my life.  I am on a new Chemo now because my last one allowed some progression of the cancer.  The new one which is my fourth one, is difficult.  They all come with their own set of symptoms.  But the Lord is raising me up in the midst of this treatment.  Initially I was so ill I didn’t think it was possible to take it, but I just finished week two and I am here to write about it this morning.  I love the Lord so much, I can’t imagine life without Him.  We all need Him all the time.  It may not be cancer in your life, but every life has its trials and challenges.  I am currently praying for a family who’s son was in a horrible car accident and he is in a coma.  Bobby Asa is his name.  They are living this scripture right now.  He is in His sixth day of coma today.  Has many injury’s that are life threatening.  Pray for this family.  Bobby needs a miracle, and the family needs strength.  The Lord is so faithful to be there in our time of need. I will glory in my infirmities so that His power will rest upon me.!!
